Metro FC Director of Football Announcement
Metro FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Jack Smith as the clubs new Director of Football for the 2025 season.
Jack has been a member of the club during the 2024 season as the NRFL Men’s 1st Team Assistant Coach, and as the coordinator of the Summer Soccer Skills Centre. Jack also was a coach in the highly successful, Auckland City FC Academy.
Jack currently holds an OFC/NZF C Licence Certificate (and is in the process of working towards his OFC/NZF B Licence), NZF Junior Level 3 Coaching Certificate and a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Double Major in Coaching and Management.
Jack will bring his wealth of knowledge and passion for player development to the club, with a particular focus on the growth of our U9-U12 player division, our youth football space, and the implementation of a pathway for our female players.
Jack will still be involved with our NRFL Men’s 1st Team as assistant coach and will oversee our highly popular Whole of Football Plan (U5-U8) sessions on Friday Nights.

Jack will begin his role with Metro FC in January 2025, with his first task being the team building process for the new season.
